Traveling by train is a unique and exciting way to explore different countries, and the journey from Pakistan to India is no exception. The “Pakistan to India Train” was a popular way for people to travel between these two neighboring countries, and it offered a glimpse into the rich culture and history of both nations. This train service connected Lahore in Pakistan and Delhi in India. This train is no longer running and its service is stopped

Pakistan to India Train – Samjhauta Express

Pakistan to India Train, also known as the Samjhauta Express, is a bi-weekly train that ran between Lahore, Pakistan, and Attari, India. The train was started in 1976 as a peace initiative between the two countries, and it remained one of the few ways for people to travel between Pakistan and India. The train used to depart from Lahore railway station on Mondays and Thursdays and reaches the Attari railway station, the last station on the Indian side, on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The Samjhauta Express departs from Lahore’s Wagah railway station and arrives at Delhi’s Old Delhi railway station. The journey would take around 24 hours and cover a distance of around 3090 km. The train had both AC and non-AC coaches, and it offered a range of classes such as sleeper, AC sleeper, and AC chair car.

Why experience this train?

The train journey itself was a great way to take in the sights and sounds of both Pakistan and India. As the train travels through the picturesque landscapes of the Punjab region, you’ll pass by small towns, villages, and vibrant cities, which gave the travelers a glimpse into the daily life of the local people. The train also crossed the border between Pakistan and India at the Wagah railway station, where one witnessed the famous “Beating Retreat” ceremony, which is a military practice that takes place every evening.

The train journey also offered an opportunity to interact with the locals and gain insight into their culture and lifestyle. The train has two classes, economy and executive, and the fare was quite economical. The train had a pantry car, where one purchased food and drinks during the journey. Once people reach Delhi, they had plenty of things to see and do. The city is known for its rich history and culture, and it’s home to several famous landmarks such as the Red Fort, Qutub Minar, and Jama Masjid. They also explore the city’s famous bazaars and street markets, which are great places to pick up souvenirs and local handicrafts.

It’s more than a journey

The journey on Pakistan to India Train was not just about the destination, but also about the journey itself. It was a great way to experience the rich culture and history of both Pakistan and India and to gain a deeper understanding of the relationship between these two neighboring countries.

I got to know the story of Coffee from the jungles I got to know the story of Coffee from the jungles of Coorg ! Want to know the story of Coffee ?

Read it here..

Coffee has become so much an integral part of our life and we assume it has been there for a longest time .But the truth is far from it.Coffee is not even native to India. During the 17th Century it was brought to India from Yemen by Baba Budan to Bababudanagiri in Karnataka. So coffee had its humble beginning in Chikmagalur and then eventually spread to Kodagu ( now called Coorg).

Next time when you visit Coorg or Chikmagalur, sip an authentic coffee and say cheers in the name of Baba Budan

Tadiandamol Trek in the Western Ghat Ranges is the third highest peak in the district of Karnataka and the highest peak in the Kodagu District (Coorg). The trail with boulders, flowing stream, plain grassland, buzzing insects, dense trees, and the clouds below us from the peak make this trek definitely one of the best in the Coorg District of Karnataka.
